The purpose of our creative teaching seminar is to improve the quality of teaching at your church and facilitate transformation in the lives of participants. Our 3-hour seminar will motivate your teachers and give them practical teaching tools they can apply immediately.

Overview of the seminar:

Teaching Strategies of Jesus and Creative Teaching Methods – We compare the many different techniques of Jesus with our resources for teaching today. Handouts provide creative ideas and guide teachers as they prepare lessons each week. Participants are given the opportunity to put their creativity into practice by matching an assigned topic with a teaching method and location.

Leading Effective Discussions – Guidelines are offered for those leading discussions in classes and small groups. We also look at Bloom’s Educational Taxonomy to learn how all questions are not created equal.

Learning Styles – Participants are given the opportunity to take a brief inventory of their own preferred learning style. They’ll discover how they may teach to their own style and how to branch out in order to connect with others who learn differently.

Objectives and Evaluation – Participants learn how to create learning goals to aim for in teaching, as well as how those goals influence evaluation.

Video of Effective Teaching – Throughout the seminar we take video breaks where teaching clips are shown. Participants then evaluate the quality of the teaching observed.

Motivation in the Classroom – Since the teacher is the leader of what occurs in the classroom we talk about ways to lead the environment to make it more conducive to motivated learners.
